File Extension Library

So you don't know what a file extension is? It's portion at the end of a filename (suffix) that describes its file type. The ones your use to seeing is like .jpeg. File extension library websites offers over 1,000 file extensions. The range from 3g2 to xpi, ones of which I have never heard of before.

Part is an extention that can best be described as a partially downloaded file, or also know as PTC Pro/Engineer PART file. The .PART extention is when in the process of being carried out or those that may have been stopped. Even if a file has been stoped it may be resumed later using the download program you used in the beginning.

The .PART can be used by various file transfer applications. These programs include, Go!Zilla and eMule. PART extension can not be opened directly, however download mangers store downloads with a .PART file extension.
