Those that would like to enroll into the program need to have an M.D.'s permission after a full physical. They do not consider their clients as patients, but instead call them students. The student will learn about substance abuse, and how to move on with life without it. In essence, students are taught new skills for living life.
The Stone Hawk program allows their students to move back into their life on their own. The programs for re-entry focus on teaching students to live ethical lives free of their addiction, standing on their own two feet.
Graduates of the program do not go to weekly meetings, because it would serve as a crutch, keeping them from recovering fully. Students will have developed a new orientation in their lives.
Students who graduate the program are empowered to stay drug and alcohol free for life. Nearly all students achieve success the first time through the drug rehab and alcoholism programs, making it truly an answer to chronic relapse.
